Position Overview

As our Administration Officer (Planning & Development), you will provide essential administrative support to various technical staff across planning, building, environmental health, plumbing, and municipal functions. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of statutory duties and maintaining accurate documentation.

In this part-time position, key responsibilities include overseeing compliance in various applications, coordinating inspections, preparing necessary notices and permits, and facilitating stakeholder communication. The position reports to the Senior Administration Officer and plays an integral role in achieving departmental goals.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess a mix of administrative skills and customer service experience, with a flair for maintaining clear communication with diverse stakeholders. We seek an individual who is proactive, organised, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Proven customer service and administrative experience, ideally within a local government context.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt to specialised applications.
  • Current Tasmanian Driver's Licence (C Class) is required.

Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to community-focused service will be key to success in this role. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, integrity, and a customer-centric approach in their work
