Your role as a Technical Officer - Assets

As a Technical Officer in our Community Assets Directorate, you will be at the forefront of our asset management initiatives. Your expertise will ensure that our community’s resources are meticulously recorded, maintained, and reported. You will engage in a variety of projects, from GIS applications to waste management, all while supporting our operational and engineering teams.

Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of asset data, conducting site inspections, and preparing detailed asset information. You will also play a key part in responding to community enquiries and enhancing our customer service experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Research, collect, and accurately record asset data in alignment with established priorities.
  • Conduct site inspections to confirm asset locations, details, and conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records in asset registers and support asset inspections.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of Council assets, ensuring compliance with risk management obligations.
  • Prepare detailed plans and drawings related to asset information.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries regarding operational or capital works and assist with waste management services.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a passionate individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a keen eye for detail. 

You will need the following:

  • A Diploma level qualification in civil engineering, asset management, or geospatial information systems.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in local government or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in database management, spreadsheets, and GIS software.

Your ability to communicate effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and work collaboratively will be essential in this role. We value resilience, accountability, and a community-focused mindset.
